Be able to find the
  -  zeros
  -  y-intercept
  -  axis of symmetry
  -  vertex
of a quadratic function that is in standard form or factored form.

Ex.  3x^2 – 9x – 30

Be able to write an equation (factored and standard form) from a graph or scatter plot (ie. plot data.)

Solve quadratic equations by factoring.
  - find x, (usually two answers ;) )

Solve word problems:
- Profit type questions
- Population type questions
- Projectile type questions (anything that flies through the air.)

For word problems:
-  Look for vertex to find maximum or minimum.
-  Substitute and solve to find a specific variable.
(what time, how high, what speed… find x or y.)

Domain and Range

Communication: explain a procedure.

p. 182 #1, 5-7, 9, 11
